Lamp shades come in various sizes, but some of the most common sizes are 15cm, 20cm, 25cm, 30cm, 35cm, 40cm, 45cm, and 50cm in diameter. This measurement is taken across the bottom of the lamp shade.
If you’re unsure about the size of your current lamp shade, measure across the widest point to get the diameter of the bottom. Next, measure from the bottom to the top to get the height of the shade. When shopping for a replacement lamp shade, choose a shade with similar measurements to make sure you get a secure and appropriate fit.

The best way to replace a lamp shade depends on the type of lamp and how it attaches to the shade. For most lamps, you’ll need to remove the old shade by unscrewing it or removing the harp (the piece that connects it to the base of the lamp). 

The new shade should have the same type of attachment, so you can simply replace it by screwing it onto the harp or using the clip-on attachment. Check that the shade is level and secure before turning on the lamp and Voila!
