Smart lighting comes in two forms. Either you can make an existing lighting fixture smart by using a smart bulb or smart adapter, or you can buy integrated LED smart lighting. If you’re buying a smart bulb for an existing feature, be sure to make sure it’s compatible (i.e. screw cap or bayonet, golf or candle, GLS or capsule). If you’re just using a smart adapter, the LED bulbs you’ve been using in your lighting fixture will be just fine.
